It is mine…
It is mine...
The video art project titled ‘Its Mine’ interrogates the relationship between the female body and sexuality through the lens of societal norms, centering on the issue of bodily ownership. This project addresses questions such as who the female body belongs to, who defines it, and who controls it, using an aesthetic language and symbolic imagery. It examines the domination of societal gender constructs over the body, the commodification of femininity, and the transformation of the body into a battleground from a feminist perspective. The video challenges the perception of the body as an object of ownership, emphasizing a woman’s autonomy and subjectivity over her own body. The meanings, expectations, and limitations imposed on the female body by society are deconstructed with visual poetics. This work invites the viewer to reflect on the relationship between bodily ownership, sexuality, and identity, while also shedding light on women’s struggle to reclaim their bodies.
